Top Three Choices for Project:

ISP-
  • Like that there is a process and that the feelings students may be experiencing accompany each step. As a librarian, I think knowing where students may be experiencing uncomfortable feelings that inhibit their research process, helps me to help them.
  • Good if our audience is teachers because it gives them an intuitive sense of how to work with students to create more meaningful learning

  • experiences.

  • I see this process as maleable to a variety of uses. (Choosing a pet, career to research, science project, etc.)

IIM-
  • Like that there are simple steps with clarification for each. This would help students who are unclear about what each step is meant to achieve.
  • I see this one as being the most limited in uses because I think it would be great to give students a solid framework for a research assignment, but I could easily see students not finding it applicable to real life scenarios. ( I suppose that could be something to prove in this assignment.)

Big 6-
  • I am most familiar with this method, and I find it to be very flexiblle. We could choose students or teachers as the audience. We could also connect Big 6 to many types of information needs.
  • I also like that Big 6 can be adapted to the needs of students of different abilities.
